Reliance Jio: Rs 153 prepaid plan updated to offer 1GB 4G data everyday!

Reliance Jio has now updated its Rs 153 prepaid pack and will offer 1GB of 4G data per day. This plan would previously offer 500MB worth of 4G data per day. With this update, users will get a total of 28GB data for a period of 28 days. They will also get unlimited local and STD calls, free SMSes and unrestricted access to Jio apps such as JioTV, Jio Cinema and more.

Jio Phone has also introduced two smaller packs – Rs 24 and Rs 54. While the Rs 24 pack offers free voice calls, 500MB data per day, 20 SMSes, and access to Jio apps for 2 days, the Rs 54 plan offers free voice calls, 500MB data per day, 70 SMSes and access to Jio apps for 7 days.

After disrupting the telecom sector by making a grand entry, Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio is reportedly planning to launch its own cryptocurrency. The company is mulling to introduce JioCoin and the launch will be headed by Mukesh Ambani's elder son, Akash Ambani.

According to the report, Reliance Jio plans to build a 50-member team of young professionals to work on blockchain technology, which can also be used to develop applications such as smart contracts and supply chain management logistics.

Quoting a highly placed source, the report stated, "The Company plans to hire 50 young professionals with an average age of 25 years for Akash Ambani to lead. There are multiple applications of blockchain (for the company). The team would work on various blockchain products." Reliance Jio may also get into the Internet of Things (IoT) and the blockchain technology will be helpful in the same.
